International Trust, Corporate Services Provider Creates Global Deputy CFO Role

, an international trust and corporate services provider, has appointed Derek Vaz as its deputy global chief financial officer.

Vaz has more than 20 years' experience in the financial services industry and has held numerous senior roles at Lloyds Banking Group and KPMG.

He spent a nine-year stint working in the international division of Lloyds Banking Group, carrying out roles that included CFO for its Middle East and European corporate bank. He also played a key role in establishing the European corporate bank after the merger between Lloyds Banking Group and HBOS was completed, Equiom said in a statement. 

While at KPMG, Vaz worked with financial services institutions on their integration and divestment programmes. He designed and managed programme infrastructure for clients and supported the business to ensure deadlines were met. 

In his new role, Vaz will work with Equiom's global CFO, Jeremy Evans, and the firm's global leadership team to develop its ongoing financial strategy. 

“With his extensive experience in the financial sector and truly global background, he will be a valuable asset to the company,” said Evans.

Equiom has offices in the British Virgin Islands, Guernsey, Hong Kong, the Isle of Man, Jersey, Malta, the State of Qatar, Singapore and the United Arab Emirates.
